Princeton Review Picks USA's 18 Eco-Friendliest Colleges

The 18 greenest U.S. colleges and universities are spread out over 12 states and include two Ivy League institutions, according to the third annual ranking by The Princeton Review. They earned high marks for their energy use, recycling, food and transportation practices, greenhouse gas emissions and course offerings, reported the company that created the popular “best colleges” guides. Students are showing more interest in attending green colleges, said Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s senior vice president and publisher, in announcing the ratings this week. Of 12,000 college applicants and their parents surveyed this year, 64% said they would value information about a college’s commitment to the environment. [Read this article]
