Summer Fun in Dallas-Fort Worth

Lennar Dallas/Ft. Worth

Summer Fun Makes the Metroplex Cool

Summertime is time for the family to make a bucket list, and not just one that includes a bucket of fried chicken for a picnic at Dallas-Fort Worth’s hottest spots for cooling off, the many big and popular lakes all over the Metroplex.

Nothing can be cooler than ice-skating at Dallas’s glittering Galleria, a paradise for shoppers and, for kids, a slide on the ice, but the entire area is awash in splash parks, too. While Lennar communities throughout Dallas-Fort Worth boast resort-style amenities, water parks and play fountains keep north Texas afloat during the summer heat, from Allen, just north of Dallas, to Weatherford, west of Fort Worth—and everywhere in between.

While the kids are out of school, let the family go wild, literally. Take exotic trips to the Dallas Zoo, billed as the largest zoological experience in Texas, where spelling “zoological” correctly counts as extra credit, and the SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium, with touch pools and an “ocean tunnel” that’s 360 degrees.

The temps in north Texas don’t reach quite that heat, but if you can brave a little summertime weather, you’ll have a ball with the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team at Globe Life Park stadium in Arlington. Or wait until the sun goes down in the Lone Star State’s legendary big sky and cool off at the Dallas Arboretum’s Cool Thursdays Concert Series.

If some of all this bucket-list planning looks like a puzzle, let the kids put their own together at LEGOLAND Discover Center, filled with rides, a 4D theatre, and, of course, zillions of Legos. Toying around with other ideas? Take the family back to your own childhood memories at popular destinations for good, old-fashioned fun, namely Six Flags Over Texas, also over in Arlington, or the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre in Ennis, where moving pictures show for $7 and less per person.

A bucket list isn’t complete, of course, without a bucket. A variety of orchards, farms, and vineyards provides the pails for some fruitful fun, while duffers can grab a bucket of practice balls and hit the range in courses coursing throughout the Metroplex.

While our bucket list lists only a few of big-bucket summer ideas, the Metroplex promises more fun than anyone can squeeze into a single summer before school starts. Lennar’s homes really do offer Everything’s Included®, and our communities throughout north Texas include premium access to the best in recreation, leisure, dining, sporting events and your own athletic outings, cultural activities, shopping, and world-class entertainment.

While school’s still out, here’s an arithmetic quiz. What does Lennar plus Dallas-Fort Worth plus summer equal? Cool!
